This collaborative research explores how arts, culture, and belief systems of the Mekong River Basin civilization in Thailand can be adapted into contemporary animation storytelling. The study examines regional identity, folklore, traditions, and spiritual narratives as creative foundations for animated film production. Through the development and evaluation of the animation project Kan Krao, the research highlights the potential of animation as a medium for preserving and communicating intangible cultural heritage to younger generations.

Hearing the Moon: Sound as Storytelling in Ordinary Night

This paper explores sound as a primary narrative device within the audiovisual work Ordinary Night. Using minimal visual imagery and a layered nocturnal soundscape, the study investigates how listening can construct emotional memory, spatial perception, and narrative meaning. The research combines sound design practice, audience interpretation, and theoretical perspectives from audiovisual and sound studies to examine storytelling under visual constraints.
